"The best parts of pop/rock from every decade but still new and unique" is a quote from a fan that seems to describe Classified Frequency perfectly.  They are an exciting Power Pop (or as they like to say, Fusion Cock Rock) quintet from Maryland who have been wowing audiences for years with their non stop, energetic shows and their super hooky, arena rock anthems.

They've toured up and down the east coast, played countless festivals and showcases including Hard Rock Cafe Pink Jams where they were picked as one of the "Top 5 Bands To See" (Stephanie Williams; DC Music Download), Noise In The Basement which got them featured on 98 Rock with Matt Davis, Yelp NOVA which got them featured on Channel 8 News in Rosslyn, VA, and Celebrate Fairfax, one of the biggest festivals in northern Virginia.

They've opened and shared the stage with many popular national and regional acts including the Gin Blossoms, Cowboy Mouth, The Pietasters, Carlton, The Funk Junkies, The Last Year, Bad Seed Rising, Telegraph, Black Dog Prowl, Carter Lou, Derek Evry and Rites of Ash.

They were an "Honorable Mention" on The Deli DC blog for Best Upcoming Band and voted as "Band of the Month" on that same blog for January 2015.  In 2016 they beat out over 65 bands to win the Jammin Java Battle of the Bands in Vienna, VA and in 2017, they toured and played with the Gin Blossoms and Cowboy Mouth.

They've released three EP’s.  Most recently, the "Black Eye" EP extended the band's relationship with Producer, Jim Ebert (Marvelous 3, Butch Walker, Meredith Brooks, All Time Low) and their long time relationship with Mixing Engineer, Jamie Woolford (The Stereo, Let Go, Tickertape Parade, The Gin Blossoms, The Story Changes) who mixed their last two EP’s, “Heart Attack” and “Reach Out.”

“Black Eye” is already garnering strong reviews including Melodic.net who said, “This is the kind of old-school powerpop / pop punk that gets me in a good mood from the very first second of the opening track "Tenet" to the 4th track "Complicated…” and Aural Grove, who wrote, “Judging by the sound of the EP, Classified Frequency has quite a few live gigs under their belt through which they have perfected their sound. There’s no way that the tightness and musical unison exhibited on these four tracks can be studio-modified, even with all the trickery. It is the blood, sweat and energy of those live gigs that does the trick.”

In March of 2019, the “Black Eye” EP was nominated for six Washington Area Music Awards (Wammies) in the Pop Artist, Pop Album, Rock Artist, Rock Album, Hard Rock Artist and Hard Rock Album categories.

“Unbelievable pop/rock live show!”
— Jammin' Java (Vienna, VA)
Power Pop at its best!!
— Sharon Reed (DC Music Download)
CF’s sound is super-tight and reminiscent of great bands like Cheap Trick.
— Jeyon Falsini (Promotor)
Their tunes thunder along at 100mph, chunky guitars, strong hooks, great melodies and a vocal delivery to die for, as for the drummer, I’ll have two of whatever he has before going out this weekend!
— Wayne Lundqvist Ford (Ice Cream Man Power Pop and More)
...the fact that Classified Frequency managed to shut the entire venue up and actually pay attention is something to be said. They are a band that I’m still ashamed I haven’t discovered sooner.
— Stephanie Williams (DC Music Download)
This Maryland based band kicks things off with volume and skill.
— David Hintz (DC Rock Live)
